A Sony camera can send tethered captures through different routes, but a Wi-Fi connection introduces pairing and network-state checks. Complete those checks before putting the camera in a guest-facing booth.

Prepare the computer route

Open the camera’s PC Remote function settings and choose the computer connection method supported by the body. Follow its on-screen pairing or authentication steps and make sure the camera and computer are on the intended network; use the model-specific Help Guide because labels can vary.

Set the file destination

Choose where files should be saved and whether the camera keeps a copy if that option is available. Sony warns that connected-phone states can interfere with some PC Remote configurations; disconnect other camera companions if the body’s guide identifies a conflict.

Test a full cycle

Capture one frame, wait for transfer, and open the file on the computer. Then repeat once after disconnecting and reconnecting the chosen network path. If the camera loses pairing, record the model and connection mode; do not substitute instructions from a different generation without checking its guide.
