Inside the booth
Give hands a supporting role in a portrait
Keep expressions visible while gestures change.
Hands can connect four frames without hiding the face.
Choose safe positions
Keep gestures within a comfortable range and clear of the lens or capture controls. Try resting hands, a small wave, an offered lightweight object and a return to rest. Make a test to see which positions survive the crop. Do not require movement that a participant finds difficult.
Check overlap
Review whether fingers obscure eyes, mouth or another person. Simplify any frame that becomes visually crowded. A quiet hand gesture can be enough; preserve the portrait as the main subject and allow an alternative with no hand movement.
