Prepare a fallback when a DIY booth stops working
Choose a small recoverable plan before guests are waiting.
A failure plan should make the next decision simpler. It does not need to anticipate every fault; it needs to identify which part failed and how guests can still leave with a clear answer.
Separate capture from output
Our plan asks whether the photographs were captured, whether the strip was composed and whether export or printing completed. These are different stages. Keep a test picture that shows the expected final result, so the helper can recognise a partial success.
Choose an honest fallback
If capture works but printing fails, offer the tested digital delivery route if guests want it. If the app cannot complete the session, a native-camera portrait may be a separate option. Label it as a different result rather than promising an identical strip or silently substituting a new service.
Protect the saved work
Avoid deleting guest pictures while troubleshooting. Flashroom supplies one capture workflow, but printer and event delivery failures need their own plan. Record the problem and pause a failing step rather than repeatedly charging or retaking without explaining what will be delivered.
