Digital booths
Give NX Tether booth captures predictable filenames
Use a date or sequence in names so a folder stays sortable.
A tethered folder fills quickly during a busy event. Configure NX Tether’s name components before the first guest, then make a test file and check the resulting name rather than guessing how separators and counters combine.
Open destination options
In NX Tether, open Tools and Options, then the Destination settings. Choose a prefix or suffix that identifies the event or capture station. Avoid putting guest names into filenames unless you have a clear privacy and retention reason to do so.

Pick a unique identifier
Choose an available naming convention such as Sequential Number, Date, or Date & Time. If using a sequence, set the starting number and digit width. Add an underscore, hyphen, or space only if the resulting name is easier for your handoff process to read.

Inspect and continue
Shoot one test image and confirm the completed filename in the destination folder. Then take a second test and make sure the identifier advances as expected. Nikon’s options vary by camera and app version; if the setting is absent, use the body’s supported workflow rather than assuming the control is hidden.
