Review Nikon NX Tether captures in Lightroom Classic automatically
Connect the tether destination folder to Lightroom’s watched-folder import.
NX Tether can write captures to a destination folder while Lightroom Classic monitors a separate watched folder and imports new files. Use a clear folder flow so incoming booth images appear in the catalog without manually opening every file.
Choose the handoff folder
In NX Tether, set Software to View Pictures After Transfer to None and choose the folder where the camera writes images. Nikon’s help describes this as the folder Lightroom Classic monitors for auto import. Make sure the capture folder is separate from the watched folder if Lightroom will move imported files.

Configure Lightroom Auto Import
In Lightroom Classic, open Auto Import Settings and choose an empty Watched Folder. Set a Destination folder, file-naming rules, and any metadata or develop defaults you actually want applied. Adobe states the watched folder must be empty and does not monitor its subfolders.

Validate the handoff
Take one test photo and follow it from NX Tether’s destination into Lightroom’s catalog. Confirm the preview and final destination are correct before enabling the booth run. If the file is not imported, check folder emptiness and whether NX Tether or Lightroom is configured to move files; do not leave the same folder serving incompatible roles.
