Save a tethered Nikon portrait to both computer and card
Keep a working computer copy while the camera card retains its own file.
Before a guest run, choose where NX Tether writes each capture. A dual destination gives you a computer-side handoff copy and a card copy, while a quick test confirms the selected folder and camera are both receiving files.
Set the destination
Connect the camera and open NX Tether. In Destination, choose Computer + Card, then use Browse to select the event folder on the computer. Insert a card in the camera and check that it has enough free space for the planned session. If the camera supports live view, NX Tether may not offer Computer-only mode; the available choices depend on the connected model.

Run one proof capture
Take a single test portrait before enabling the guest flow. Confirm that a new file appears in the chosen computer folder and that the camera reports a card copy. Check the filename and open the computer copy once, so a transfer placeholder is not mistaken for a completed image.

Keep the boundary clear
Do not unplug the USB cable while a transfer is still underway. For video, Nikon notes that Computer + Card transfers after recording to the card. If this workflow is a booth session, keep the folder writable and monitor card space; dual saving is a second copy, not a substitute for checking the files.
