Use a Darkroom Booth V-card QR for guest check-in
Let a guest present contact details by QR code before the camera session begins.
Darkroom Booth can read V-card or MECARD QR data to start a session and use captured contact fields in the booth output. Treat this as an optional check-in route: collect only details needed for delivery, explain the use, and verify where the information appears.
Choose a scanner
Enable VCARD/MECARD Detection in the booth. You can use the booth camera, a secondary webcam, or an external QR scanner; when using an external scanner, choose and pair that device in the booth settings. Test the scan under the room’s actual screen brightness.

Choose where data appears
In the output template, use Insert Special Text to add only the V-card fields you need. The help page also describes adding a V-card QR code to a template and using a phone web form to create the guest’s code. Avoid printing a phone number or email address unless the guest has clearly agreed to that display.

Run a privacy check
Scan a test V-card and confirm the booth starts one session and captures the expected contact information. Inspect the printed and digital outputs before opening the station. Set a retention rule for captured contact details and provide a non-QR start path for guests who prefer not to submit them.
