Start a Darkroom Booth session from a guest QR code
Set up and test the QR-start flow before replacing the usual start button.
Darkroom Booth supports a touchless start in which the camera or a secondary webcam scans a QR code and starts a photo session. Configure output prompts and scanner mode together so a guest can complete the flow without touching the kiosk.
Set the session output
In the Output menu, enable the documented Photo Email 1 and Photo to Phone options and set their prompts to appear after the session. Create the booth-start QR code using the service and setup described in the Darkroom guide. Check the current software version requirement before configuring the event.

Choose a scanner route
In Controls, enable Allow touchless start if QR Code is detected. For a DSLR without continuous focus, the guide directs operators to choose an alternate webcam in QR Code setup; it notes that this webcam preview is not shown. Mount that scanner to read a phone screen without reflections.

Test scan distance and delivery
Scan the code from the distance and angle guests will use, then complete a full capture and verify the configured follow-up prompt. If using a supported continuous-focus DSLR or webcam, test its own scanning path rather than assuming it behaves like a secondary camera. Keep the ordinary operator start route available during setup.
