Check both Safari camera permission layers on Mac

Distinguish a blocked website from a blocked browser app.

A Safari page can fail to show the camera because the website permission or macOS app permission is off. Check both layers so you do not keep changing the wrong control.

Review the website

In Safari, open Safari Settings, choose Websites, then select Camera. Find the booth page and set its permission to Ask or Allow as appropriate. When testing a private event station, prefer granting access only to the page that needs it.

Review macOS access

Open Apple menu > System Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera and confirm Safari is enabled if it appears in the list. macOS lists apps that have requested camera access. If Safari is absent, first trigger a legitimate camera request in the browser.

Confirm indicator and preview

Reload the page and test its camera preview. Apple notes the camera indicator light turns on while an app is using the camera and goes off when camera-using apps are closed. Quit other camera apps when checking which one currently owns the feed.
