Rotate a photo strip for a print sheet
Turn the layout without changing its proportions.
A tall strip may fit more conveniently sideways on a print sheet. Rotation and resizing are separate decisions, and checking both prevents surprises.
Begin with a duplicate
Keep the original orientation in your master folder. Rotate a copy using a deliberate quarter turn rather than dragging a corner until the image looks nearly straight. Check the caption orientation and all edges. A slight accidental angle can consume page space or create an unwanted crop.
Set the finished size
Place the rotated strip at its intended physical dimensions on the page. Preserve the ratio between its sides rather than stretching it to fill a convenient rectangle. Allow room for the printer’s margins and any cutting space; the printable area depends on the printer and settings you actually use.
Measure a test
Print one proof and measure the portrait strip itself, not only the page. Check that faces and caption remain complete. Record the orientation and scaling option that worked. When ordering more copies, send that verified instruction rather than expecting the recipient to infer dimensions from the screen preview.
