Make & keep
Use a strip as a writing prompt
Create a story while keeping invented dialogue identifiable.
Four portraits can inspire a short scene without requiring you to know what the people originally said.
Write from observation
List visible gestures, expressions and changes between frames. Choose one detail to develop into an original fictional scene. Keep any factual caption separate from that story. Do not put invented words in quotation marks as though they were a documented statement by a real historical person.
Preserve the distinction
Label the creative piece as fiction or an imaginative response. Credit the image source and check permission before publishing a copy. Keep a brief source record beside the story so readers can find the actual object and understand where observation ends and invention begins.
