Make & keep
Photograph a strip behind glass
Recognise reflections before processing the image.
A framed strip can be documented in place even when removing it would risk damage.
Change the capture setup first
Use a stable camera and inspect the preview for reflected windows, lamps or your own silhouette. Adjust your position and lighting before taking the final photograph. Include a separate overall view of the frame. Avoid dismantling a sealed or valuable mounting just to achieve a cleaner image.

Describe the limitation
Record that the photograph was made through glazing. Keep a master of that capture and label any edited version. If reflections obscure faces, explain the limitation rather than inventing missing detail. A conservator can advise on safe access when the mounting itself needs assessment.
