How to choose a frame for photo booth strips
Measure the real print, preserve the edges and choose a mount that does not trap the photograph.
A frame should fit the strip you own, not an assumed universal photobooth size. Measure the paper including its borders, then distinguish the frame’s overall dimensions from its visible opening. A strip that fits behind a mount may still lose its top or bottom photograph from view.
Measure three things
Write down the strip’s width and height, the visible image area and any extra caption you want to show. For several strips, include the gap between them. A frame sold as 2×6 inches may describe a print size rather than the exact opening; check the product drawing or measure a sample.
If a strip differs from the available opening, use a larger frame with a suitable mount rather than trimming a meaningful original.
Keep the surface away from the glazing
Library of Congress preservation guidance recommends suitable storage and avoiding damaging materials or handling. For a valued original, ask a framer about photograph-safe mounting and a spacer or mount that prevents the surface pressing against the glazing. Leave room to remove the photograph later.

Arrange multiple strips
Try a line, a pair or a small grid on paper before committing to the frame. Match the top edges when you want a quiet gallery arrangement. Alternate heights only if the imbalance is intentional. A label can identify the date or occasion without being written on the original photograph.
Use a scan or reprint for decorative experiments. Magnets, adhesive backing and craft treatments are easier to reverse when the historic or sentimental original is stored safely elsewhere.
Choose the display location
Keep photographs out of strong direct light and away from heat or damp. A frame is not a promise that colours will never change. For a frequently handled desk display, use a replaceable copy and retain a digitised record. Measure, proof and mount carefully once; the small format rewards precision because even a few millimetres can hide an expression.
