Make & keep
Fold a photo-strip image cube from six copied frames
Create a hand-held cube that shows a different portrait on each face.
A folded image cube works as a small rotating display when each side has its own copy. It needs accurate tabs and square panels, so test the net on plain paper before attaching images. Keep the original strip safe while you cut and fold.
Draw the net
On card, draw six equal squares in a cross-shaped cube net and add narrow glue tabs along selected edges. Check that opposite faces meet when folded. Keep each square large enough for one frame and its border. Mark the crease lines lightly.
Place the pictures
Print duplicate frames to fit each square and number the reverse in assembly order. Attach each image before folding, smoothing from centre to edge. Leave tabs clear so they bond to plain card rather than printed surfaces. Use removable paper hinges where possible.
Fold and rotate
Score the lines with a blunt tool, fold gently and glue the tabs inside. Rotate the cube to check every face. If the last seam will not close, reopen it and correct the fold or tab length; do not force a crease through a photograph.
