Make & keep
Export an Inkscape print PDF while keeping an editable SVG
Make the PDF as a copy and retain the original SVG for later revisions.
A print shop may request PDF, while the design still needs editable text and vector shapes. Save the native SVG first, then use Save a Copy for the PDF. Inspect text and photo effects in the PDF because not every SVG feature transfers identically between applications and export settings.
Save the editable project
Save the current document as SVG with its images and editable text. Make a copy of the file before converting text to paths or changing settings that could reduce editability.

Create the PDF copy
Choose File → Save a Copy and select PDF. Review the text options: embedding fonts can preserve searchable text when permitted, while converting display lettering to paths can preserve its shape but makes it no longer text.

Inspect a proof
Open the PDF separately and check page size, captions, and filtered photo elements. If a print provider needs a different setting, adjust the PDF copy again and keep the untouched SVG as the revision source.
