Offer a no-photo way to join the booth activity
Let guests take part in the social moment without being captured.
A photo station can be a gathering place as well as a camera. Build an equivalent no-photo route into the activity so a guest can help choose a prompt, hold a prop or write a caption without explaining why they do not want an image.
Design the alternate role
Set out a prompt-card table or prop-choice board beside, but outside, the camera’s view. Give the helper a specific task such as choosing the next gesture or assembling a paper frame. Avoid positioning the person as a “nonparticipant.”
Mark the capture boundary
Use a visible floor or backdrop cue to show where the camera records. Keep the alternate activity beyond that line and check the camera preview for reflections that could capture it indirectly. Tell the host and helpers the same simple explanation.
Walk the route
Ask a volunteer to approach, choose the alternate role and leave without crossing the capture area. If they must pass in front of the camera, pause capture or move the table. The route works when a guest can participate and exit without becoming part of a photo.
