Digital booths
Make a repeatable booth camera resolution test with a chart
Keep the chart, distance, lighting and export path fixed for a fair comparison.
When comparing a camera with an earlier booth setup, use the same detailed target and capture conditions each time. This repeatable booth comparison helps separate changes in captured detail from changes in focus, lighting or export.
Fix the target and position
Choose one suitable resolution chart and place it near the guest’s eye position at the booth’s normal camera distance. Keep its size, angle and lighting consistent between runs. ISO 12233’s public preview identifies chart illumination, framing, focus, camera settings and white balance as test conditions; use those as a checklist for a fair comparison, not as a certification recipe.

Capture through the real booth path
Use the same lens or phone camera, focus method, exposure, resolution setting and capture app for each run. Save the file that the booth actually sends to its strip layout, including the usual processing and resize steps. If the camera app changes settings automatically, note that behavior rather than treating the result as a laboratory measurement.
Compare and record conditions
View the exported chart crops at the same scale and compare the finest repeated detail that remains distinct, including any center-to-edge change. Record the camera, lens, target distance, light, focus, processing and output size beside the files. ISO notes that camera processing and capture conditions affect measured response, so keep the same setup before attributing a difference to the camera. Finish by checking a real portrait at normal strip size. This is a practical comparison, not a full ISO 12233 test.
