Turn off digiCamControl auto-preview for faster transfer runs

Reduce extra image loading when transfer speed matters more than instant review.

On a busy capture station, opening every full-resolution preview can add computer work after each exposure. digiCamControl documents an Auto Preview option that can be disabled when transfer speed is critical.

Change one setting

Open digiCamControl Settings and find Auto preview. Turn it off for the high-throughput session if the host computer struggles to keep up. The application’s guide specifically notes preview processing can consume CPU, especially for RAW files.

Preserve a review checkpoint

Before the event, capture several frames and confirm they still arrive in the session folder even though they are not being opened automatically. Build a deliberate operator check into the run, such as inspecting the first frame and then sampling after a lighting adjustment.

Use only when needed

If instant image review is part of the guest experience, leave Auto Preview on or use a supported review screen instead. This setting changes the computer’s preview behavior, not the camera’s exposure. Re-enable it after the high-speed task if the workstation is reused for ordinary portrait review.
