Schedule a Canon EOS Utility test capture with its timer

Use a delay or interval for repeatable empty-set checks, not guest countdowns.

EOS Utility offers timer-controlled shooting that can delay one exposure or repeat captures at an interval. Use it to document a fixed booth setup or check a camera’s unattended run, while keeping the guest-facing countdown under operator control.

Choose one timer mode

Open Timer-controlled shooting in EOS Utility and configure either a delayed single capture or an interval sequence. For intervals, select a count and timing that leaves enough time for each image to transfer before the next is due.

Run a short trial

Start with a small number of test captures and confirm each file arrives before the following exposure. Canon warns transfer time can affect an interval schedule, so do not set the interval shorter than the computer-camera path can handle.

Stop and inspect

End the test, then inspect file count, order, and timestamps. This is a remote-camera timer rather than a guest interaction workflow: do not leave it running as a substitute for a booth attendant or a properly tested event capture sequence.
