Keep a white border around a photo strip
Make the border part of the image you intend to preserve.
A white surround can disappear against a white preview or be mistaken for unused page space. Decide whether it belongs to the artwork or the print sheet.
Distinguish two borders
An image can include a painted border while a printer adds its own paper margin. Open the file against a contrasting surface to identify the actual artwork boundary. If the border is important to the design, keep it inside the image rather than relying on a printer to recreate it.
Check the crop behaviour
Preview the strip in the destination where it will be shared or printed. A fill-to-window operation may remove part of the outer border along with the photograph. Compare a fit option where available, and avoid compensating by distorting the image’s proportions.
Evidence: Technical documentation
Keep one approved proof
Print or send a test and inspect every side. Save the version with the border you approved, along with the delivery settings. For repeated copies, use that file rather than a later screenshot where the edge between white artwork and white interface is impossible to see.
