Digital booths
Check printer head contact when a booth strip smears or blurs
Separate a sharp image file from media and head-clearance defects.
A digital strip can be sharp on screen and still emerge smudged or blurred from a printer. Media settings, paper thickness and the gap between the sheet and print head can affect output. Check the actual printer’s instructions before changing image sharpness or colour.
Inspect the sheet before printing
Print the same simple strip twice on supported media. If the mark is fixed to the paper path or appears across different image content, suspect the printer rather than the capture file. Preserve a sample and avoid feeding stock that the model does not support.

Match the driver to the media
Confirm that the loaded media matches the printer driver’s media definition. Epson’s CW-C8000 guide identifies unsuitable head-media clearance or media hold pressure as possible causes of blur or smearing in that model. Those adjustments are equipment-specific; do not use an industrial label-printer setting on an unrelated photo booth.

Use a plain diagnostic strip
Use a simple diagnostic strip with fine lines and a neutral patch, then consult the model manual for the approved clearance and media settings. If the output remains smeared, send service staff the print sample, media name and printer model. Keep the original image file unchanged so the diagnosis can be repeated.
