Inside the booth
Use a foreground frame without hiding the face
Add depth with a near object while keeping the portrait’s focal point clear.
A doorway, curtain or prop near the lens can create a frame within the picture. Keep that foreground shape at the edge and deliberately focus on the person; otherwise the near object can take over or confuse the crop.
Place a simple edge
Choose one object with a clean outline and hold it just inside one side of the frame. Leave a clear opening around the face and shoulders. Avoid placing a prop across eyes or using a dark shape that merges with the person’s hair.
Focus on the subject
Tap or focus on the eyes rather than the foreground. Take a test and check that the subject remains sharp enough for the print size. If the camera focuses on the near object, move it farther from the lens or use manual focus if available.
Keep the sequence stable
Repeat the same foreground position for the other frames, then change only the person’s expression or gesture. Review the strip as a whole; if the prop looks like an accidental obstruction, remove it and use negative space instead.
