Inside the booth
Leave deliberate space in a booth portrait
Use an offset pose without losing the sitter.
A portrait need not fill every part of the window to feel intentional.
Check the crop first
Test a comfortable off-centre position and leave clear space on one side. Keep the face and important hands inside the actual export window. If the editor crops to a different ratio from the camera preview, inspect the finished strip before treating the pose as successful.
Use the space sparingly
Let the background support the portrait rather than filling it with tiny text or decorative symbols. Repeat the placement across frames or change it deliberately. Save a version without added wording so the composition remains available independently of a later caption.
