Inside the booth
One pose, four expressions
Make a sequence without changing the framing.
A fixed pose lets a small expression become the story.
Choose a comfortable baseline
Sit or stand in a position you can hold easily. Keep the camera and lighting consistent. Plan four expressions you actually enjoy making, from neutral to amused or thoughtful. Avoid forcing an exaggerated face; a subtle change can remain visible when the portrait is viewed as a complete strip.
Compare the sequence
Look at the frames in order and decide whether the change reads clearly. Keep the strongest full sequence rather than selecting four unrelated favourites. Repeat only if you want to explore another progression. The exercise is creative practice, not evidence of the sitter’s real emotional state.
