Suggest movement in four still photobooth frames

Keep one action small enough to read from beginning to end.

A row of still pictures can suggest movement without recording everything between them. Choose an action with a clear beginning and ending rather than treating each exposure as an unrelated pose.

Choose one modest action

Our exercise is a slow wave, a turning glance or an object entering the frame. Start before the action, let it develop through the middle pictures and finish at rest. Rehearse its outer boundary so a hand does not leave the crop exactly when it matters.

Distinguish sequence from video

The strip contains selected instants and gaps. Do not describe those gaps as recorded motion. If you make a separate video or animation, keep it labelled as a different output. A still-frame sequence can remain expressive without claiming to document every stage of the action.

Keep the actual order

Flashroom’s four-photo countdown gives the frames a capture order. Preserve that version before rearranging anything for a collage. If a later composition changes the order, save it separately. Looking at the original and the rearrangement together can reveal how much of the story came from editing.
