GIF, video or photo strip: which output?
Choose a moving souvenir without losing the still photographs you want to print.
A paper strip gives you a sequence to read. A GIF or video gives you a sequence that plays. Before starting, decide whether the photograph needs to live in an album, on a screen or in both places. The capture mode and final export format are separate choices.
Give the loop one small action
A wave, a changing expression or a prop moving slowly through the frame is enough for a short loop. Keep the camera fixed and avoid a gesture that starts outside the visible area. Test how the final frame returns to the first: a sudden jump may be amusing, but it may also interrupt the moment you wanted.
Check the actual file
Ask whether the export is a GIF, a video file or merely a link to a hosted animation. Those are different things to keep and share. Verify that the destination you plan to use accepts the finished format. A moving thumbnail inside a booth app does not guarantee that a saved file will animate elsewhere.
Keep a still version
If you also want a print, save a full-resolution still or a separate strip rather than taking a screenshot of a tiny moving preview. On Apple’s Mac Photo Booth, photographs export as JPEG and video clips as MOV. Other tools may use different formats and resolutions.

Plan for the recipient
Send one test file to a person using a different device and open it from the message or download, not only from your own photo library. Check orientation, crop and whether sound is part of the clip. Keep the original file separately from any version resized for a social platform.
For a party, tell guests what they are making before the countdown. Someone holding a perfectly still pose may expect a photograph; someone moving continuously may not realise a printable strip is also being captured.
