A photo strip is inside a PDF
Check whether you need a page or an image.
A print proof can contain a perfectly usable strip while remaining the wrong file type for a photo-sharing destination. Begin with what the next step requires.
Ask for the intended deliverable
A printer may want a measured page; a guest may want an ordinary image. Keep the PDF when its page size and reference marks matter. If you made the proof yourself, locate the original strip image before extracting or screenshotting the PDF and losing its provenance.
Inspect an exported image
If you need to export the strip from the PDF, work on a copy and choose deliberate image dimensions. Open the result separately, check that the entire strip is present and remove unrelated page furniture only from the delivery copy. Do not assume that a screenshot captures the document’s original image resolution.
Preserve the relationship
Keep the proof, master image and extracted copy under related filenames. Write down which one was approved for printing. A later recipient should not have to guess whether the image includes the intended border or whether the PDF was a review document with temporary crop marks.
