Keep the right caption with the right strip
Record wording changes alongside picture revisions.
A portrait can remain unchanged while the caption becomes the reason for a new export. Treat wording as part of the version you approve.
Write the agreed text
Keep the final names, date and phrase in a short note outside the editor. Check spelling with the relevant person rather than relying on a decorative font to hide uncertainty. If the date is unknown, choose wording that preserves the uncertainty instead of adding an invented precise date.
Export one named revision
After changing text, use a filename that identifies the new version. Open it and check the entire caption at ordinary size. Compare it with the previous copy to ensure the photo order and crop did not change unintentionally. A text correction should not silently alter the approved portraits.
Deliver the approved copy
Remove superseded versions from the delivery folder only after confirming the right copy is retained. If a recipient already has the old caption, explain which file replaces it. Keep a revision trail when wording matters to the history of the event or the identity of the people pictured.
