Names with accents in a photo strip caption
Check the exported letters, not only the text field.
A name can look correct while typing and change when the picture is rendered. Accents, apostrophes and non-Latin letters deserve a final visual check.
Use the person’s spelling
Ask for the preferred written form rather than removing accents to make the caption simpler. Paste carefully and inspect quotation marks, spacing and unusual characters. Keep a short plain-text note of the intended wording outside the editor so a lost page state does not force you to reconstruct names from memory.
Check the rendered preview
Look for missing-character boxes, unexpected substitutions and letters touching the border. A font may display some scripts differently or fall back to another typeface. Fit the actual name, not a short placeholder, before choosing the caption size and position.
Open the export again
Download a test and view it separately at a realistic size. Confirm the final wording with the person when appropriate. If a particular font cannot render the name well, choose a compatible alternative rather than silently altering it. Keep the checked file as the version approved for sharing.
