Make & keep
Choose line breaks for a photo strip caption
Break the wording where it remains easy to read.
A caption with a deliberate second line often reads better than one squeezed into a tiny font.
Group the information
Put the occasion on one line and a short date or name on another when the layout supports it. Avoid breaking a person’s name in an awkward place. Check the longest intended caption rather than a short sample. Keep wording brief enough that the portrait remains dominant.
Inspect the exported file
View the caption at the final screen or print size. Check that line spacing and borders remain intact. If the editor does not support manual breaks, shorten the wording instead of assuming a pasted newline will render correctly. Save the approved caption with the final export.
