Choose a background before making a JPEG strip
Flatten the picture onto a deliberate surface.
A strip with transparent surroundings may need an opaque version for a particular recipient. Make that background choice before converting the file.
Inspect what is transparent
Open the original over two contrasting surfaces. Identify empty areas separately from white borders and light parts of a face. Decide which surrounding colour belongs in the delivery copy. Keep the original transparency if you may place the strip on another canvas later.
Compose a full rectangle
Place the strip onto the chosen background in a compatible editor, then export the copy. JPEG does not offer the same transparency capability as PNG. Simply changing the extension or relying on an application’s default background can produce a result you did not approve.
Evidence: Technical documentation
Check contrast and edges
Open the conversion separately. Check outside edges, portrait windows and caption contrast at the final viewing size. Keep the flattened delivery copy under a distinct name. An opaque version is useful for predictable sharing, while the original remains useful for a future layout with another background.
