Keep coats and bags out of the capture space
Provide a convenient temporary place without promising safekeeping.
Guests should not have to balance their belongings while posing.
Check the surrounding space
Ask the venue for an appropriate nearby surface or existing cloakroom route. Keep belongings away from walkways, power equipment and moving parts. Tell guests where their own items are placed. Do not advertise unattended storage as secure or make the booth helper responsible for valuables without an agreed arrangement.
Include retrieval in the exit
Remind the group to take its belongings before the next session begins. Keep the exit route separate from the queue where possible. A simple reminder prevents an otherwise successful portrait from ending with coats piled in the capture area and guests crossing back through the next group.
