Inside the booth
Choose camera height for a small photo booth
Test the portrait angle with the people who will use it.
A camera set for one tall person can make another guest disappear behind the frame. Establish a practical baseline while leaving room to adjust.
Try a neutral starting point
Place the camera around a comfortable face level for the intended seated or standing setup. Take a sample without leaning toward the lens. Compare a small height change before choosing. There is no one correct number for every body, device and strip layout.
Check more than the face
Inspect headroom, visible shoulders and any caption area. If the window is narrow, an angle that looks fine in a full photograph may become awkward in the final strip crop. Test the exported composition rather than relying only on the camera’s full-screen preview.
Make adjustment easy
Keep the support stable and ensure a helper can change height safely. Offer an alternative pose or seating position without insisting that guests crouch. Save the agreed baseline in your setup notes, and make another test after moving the equipment rather than assuming the previous crop survived.
