Make & keep
Export a smaller JPEG copy from Photos on Mac
Choose a format, pixel size, quality and filename for a share copy without replacing the library item.
A quick message or web upload often needs a JPEG at a smaller size than a print master. Photos for Mac can export a chosen format and dimensions from the library. Export creates a file outside the library; it does not replace the stored image or guarantee that a receiving service preserves every metadata field.
Select format and dimensions
Select the frame or frames in Photos, then choose File > Export > Export [number] Photos. In the Photo Kind menu choose JPEG. Open the options under that menu to set JPEG quality and exported size; choose a colour profile if the copy must be predictable on another display or printer.

Give the output a sequence
Use the filename controls to choose original names, Photos titles, or sequential naming. A sequence such as Session-01, Session-02 makes the strip order visible when files are sent separately. Choose whether to create subfolders, then click Export and select a destination outside the library, such as a delivery folder.

Check before sharing
Reopen one exported file and confirm the dimensions, sequence and crop before sending the whole set. JPEG is a lossy format, so use it for a share copy, not as a replacement master. If the recipient needs an unmodified camera file or full metadata, use Export Unmodified Original instead of this image-kind export.
