Make & keep
Build a share-sheet shortcut for a compatible photo copy
Send a selected image into Convert Image, then save the result to a chosen Photos album.
Build an iPhone shortcut that converts a shared image and saves a copy to a chosen Photos album.
Enable image input from Share Sheet
In Shortcuts, create a new shortcut and open its Details. Turn on Show in Share Sheet, then set the accepted input to Images so it appears when an app shares a photo. Add Convert Image after the input action; Apple documents that image input can flow into an image-conversion action. Choose the output format exposed in the action’s own settings.

Connect conversion and save actions
Add Save to Photo Album at the end and select a dedicated album for converted copies. This keeps the source item and the converted result distinguishable in Photos. If the action connector does not show a valid image flow, tap the action’s icon and choose Show Info to check the accepted input and output types; replace incompatible actions rather than forcing a text or file path into the image step.

Test the output copy
Run the shortcut from a test image’s Share sheet and inspect the saved result’s format and dimensions before converting a large batch. The shortcut processes only the item or items the host app passes in; it does not guarantee every application supplies the same image data. The output is a new copy in the album, not an edit to the library original.
