Make & keep
Straighten a phone photo of a paper photo strip
Use Photos crop and geometry controls to correct a tilted strip photograph without guessing at a new aspect ratio.
When a paper strip is photographed at an angle, its borders may converge and the faces can look skewed. The iPhone Photos crop tools include straighten and perspective controls. Work on a copy if the image is an archival master, and inspect the full strip after each adjustment.
Set a safe crop
Open the picture in Photos, tap Edit, then tap Crop. Drag the corners to set the crop around the paper; by default, dragging retains the original ratio unless you unlock it. If you want to keep the whole strip, leave room around its edges instead of cropping tightly before correcting the geometry.

Correct tilt or perspective
Swipe the controls beneath the image to the geometry tools. Choose Straighten for a rotated camera view, or a vertical or horizontal perspective control when the photographed paper’s edges converge. Move the slider gradually. The preview lets you compare the adjusted result with the original; perspective correction trims image area as it reshapes the frame.

Check borders before saving
Tap Done only after checking all four corners and the printed frame edges. A phone photograph cannot restore detail hidden by glare, blur, or a folded paper edge. If the crop removes a frame or changes the strip proportions, tap Reset and start again. Photos keeps edits reversible, so you can reopen Edit and revert later.
