A pale band at the edge of a negative
Check tank coverage as one possible cause.
A repeated band across a roll deserves a comparison with the processing setup.
Record the pattern
Inspect dry negatives, noting whether the band repeats at the same edge. Keep a reference image showing the complete frame. ILFORD identifies insufficient solution volume as a cause of a lighter edge band. Compare that possibility with the actual tank configuration and prepared volume in your log.

Change the next setup carefully
Verify the tank’s required volume and the chemical’s capacity before another test. Do not assume extra liquid cures every uneven result or exceed equipment instructions. Preserve the affected roll and your observations so a specialist can assess alternative causes if the evidence does not fit.
