Film & darkroom
Check the minimum solution volume for your tank
Film count alone does not specify how much liquid to prepare.
A tank’s working volume must match its actual configuration.
Read the tank marking
Find the manufacturer’s required volume for the reel position, film format and processing method. Record that volume before calculating dilution. A concentration can be correct while the total amount is insufficient to cover the film. Use the manual for your model rather than another photographer’s similar-looking tank.
Evidence: Manufacturer instructions
Make a session record
Write the required volume beside the selected chemical’s mixing instructions. Check both before loading an important roll. Keep separate equipment configurations in the log, so a later switch from one reel to another does not silently reuse the wrong amount.
