Film & darkroom
Arrange a changing bag before loading film
Put every required part inside before closing it.
A missing tank component becomes awkward once the exposed film is out of its cartridge.
Check the equipment list
Follow the bag and tank instructions. Include the required reel, tank components and suitable tools, and remove unrelated objects. Practise locating them with an expendable roll first. Check closures and the condition of the bag before relying on it; do not open it midway with unprotected film inside.

Plan the completed state
Know how the light-tight tank must be assembled before it can leave the bag. Keep the procedure written outside for rehearsal. If something goes wrong, preserve darkness and seek equipment-specific guidance rather than improvising in ordinary light with a valuable roll.
