Capture a readable portrait beside a moving dance floor
Separate the booth portrait from changing coloured light and motion behind it.
A booth near a dance floor can inherit moving beams, flashes and changing colour. Give portraits a stable patch of light and background so a guest does not need to freeze while the room changes around them.
Find a stable corner
Look for a wall outside direct stage or DJ lighting. Stand a volunteer there and watch one full lighting cycle before setting the camera. If the colour changes across the face, rotate the subject or move the station farther from the light path.
Set the exposure
Use a steady continuous light if available and take a test with the room as it will be during the event. Keep the face bright enough to see without letting the backdrop clip to white. Avoid changing camera settings after every guest unless the room light truly changes.
Check moving backgrounds
Review the edges for bright beams, silhouettes and motion streaks that cross the face. If a moving light keeps entering the frame, change the angle or use a plain backdrop. A successful test stays consistent for several minutes, not just one quiet moment.
