Recheck a safelight after moving it
A previous test describes a previous arrangement.
A safelight result belongs to the material and physical setup that were tested.
Document the change
Record lamp, filter, placement and paper type before testing. ILFORD warns that safelight power, distance and ageing filters can affect prints. Do not assume an attractive red glow proves compatibility with every light-sensitive material. Keep film-loading darkness requirements separate from paper-working conditions.
Evidence: Manufacturer guidance
Use the manufacturer’s test
Follow the documented test for the selected material and arrangement. Save the result and date with your darkroom notes. If the setup fails, correct it and test again before important printing. A remembered successful result from another room or lamp position is not current evidence.
