Inside the booth
Check booth-light uniformity across the whole portrait area
A face can be evenly exposed at center while group positions fall into shadow.
A single centered sample does not prove that every guest position receives the same light. Measure several points across the seating area before deciding that an exposure problem comes from the camera.
Use a matte reference
Place a neutral matte target at the face plane and photograph it at center, left and right positions. Keep the camera and exposure settings fixed. Reflective paper can create hotspots that are not representative of skin or matte clothing.
Compare brightness and colour
Inspect both luminance and colour cast across the target. A lamp’s distance and angle can create a brightness gradient, while mixed sources can shift colour. Use the same display and image profile for all comparisons.

Adjust the illumination geometry
Move, diffuse or reposition the lighting to reduce the measured variation, then repeat the same positions. Avoid fixing one dark corner with an aggressive local edit until the physical light has been checked. Record the final positions for later setup. Repeat the measurements after moving the subject marker, because distance changes both illumination and camera framing.
