Make & keep
Credit a CC BY-SA photobooth photograph clearly
Keep creator, licence and changes together with the image.
A photograph carrying a Creative Commons licence still needs the conditions of that licence respected. The attribution should travel with the image rather than disappear into an unlabelled downloads folder.
Read the actual licence
The CC BY-SA 4.0 deed describes attribution, a link to the licence and an indication of changes; it also sets conditions for sharing adaptations. Follow the linked licence for the particular image rather than assuming every Wikimedia file uses the same terms.
Evidence: Licence
Make an image card
Our card records the creator’s credited name, source record, licence URL and modifications such as crop, resizing or recompression. Keep the source image and any adaptation distinguishable. When writing a caption, describe the real place and capture date from the record without adding an invented historical story.
Keep the scope visible
A licence for one photograph does not licence every other image or article on the page. On Flashroom, the credited Berlin documentary image and the generated booth illustrations have different provenance. Keep those distinctions in a redesign, and do not imply that the photographer endorses the app because their image accompanies a guide.
