Our eight booths
Instant ’98 — the Flashroom booth
Faded colour · Instant memories. The story, format and a few ways to make it your own.
Instant ’98 pairs a faded-colour direction with a two-by-two contact sheet. It gives the four pictures equal space to sit beside one another.

An original Flashroom design. Era and city names are creative references, not claims about a historic machine.
Instant does not mean instant film
This booth makes a digital result. It is not a Polaroid product, a film emulation validated against a particular stock, or a printer. Instant-film photography has its own history and materials. The year and name in Flashroom are creative cues, not a claim about a historic camera model.
Give a small event room
Use the grid for a brief sequence of faces or for a session with a friend. Choose a simple background when you want the expressions to carry the picture. A colour treatment can feel nostalgic without adding an invented date or venue. Keep actual context in your caption rather than mistaking the look for the photograph’s history.
Make the keepsake durable
Save the original export before sharing a compressed version. If you make a paper copy, preview the layout and leave enough border for the printer. Store the actual date and names alongside the file. A picture taken now may later become an old photograph; there is no need to make up that passage of time for it.
