Make & keep
Export a transparent booth prop overlay from GIMP as PNG
Keep the clear areas around a cutout when sending a prop layer to another editor.
A hand-drawn frame, hat, or sign can be reused as a transparent overlay. Keep the source layer and its mask, then export a PNG copy with transparency intact. A JPEG cannot retain the clear pixels, so verify the file in a viewer that shows transparency.
Prepare transparency
Ensure the image layer has an alpha channel and hide any solid background layer. The checkered canvas indicates transparent areas in GIMP; it is a preview cue, not part of the exported image.

Export PNG
Use Export As and choose PNG. Keep the alpha channel enabled in the export options, then save to a new filename. Retain the layered working file so the cutout can be revised if the prop edge needs adjustment.

Test the overlay
Reopen the exported PNG over a contrasting temporary background. Look for a white rectangle, rough halo, or missing edge around the prop. If the rectangle returns, inspect the layer visibility and export selection before repeating the export.
