Gala and Salvador Dalí’s photobooth images formed part of the exhibition Gala/Dalí: Image and Mirror.

The documented exhibition

The Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí archive records the exhibition at Púbol from 18 June 2019 to 6 January 2020. Its image captions identify photomaton self-portraits of Gala and Dalí from around 1929, held by the Bibliothèque Emmanuel Boussard in Paris. The exhibition treats automatic self-portraiture as part of their exploration of identity.

Separate related photographic processes

The same archive also discusses double-exposure photographs. Do not assume every image in that section is a photobooth print or was made by the same process. Follow the caption for each specific object. The foundation reserves image rights, so the exhibition link is a research source rather than permission to copy its photographs.
