Make a photobooth at home with your phone
A simple setup with a stable camera, a background and a four-frame plan.
You do not need to build a cabinet to borrow the booth ritual. A repeatable position, a short countdown and a finished strip can make a corner of a room feel like an occasion.
Prepare the corner
Choose a clear background and leave space between it and the sitter when the room allows. Remove objects that seem to grow out of people’s heads. Place the phone on a stable support, outside the path of feet and drinks. Keep any charging cable secured away from the sitting area. A chair helps groups return to a consistent height between sessions.
Make light understandable
Begin with soft, reasonably even light falling on the faces. Avoid a bright window directly behind people when it leaves them in shadow. Do a test portrait before guests arrive; lighting that looks pleasant to your eyes may not produce the result you expect on the camera. If you want a darker mood, change one variable at a time and check the picture.

Finish with a useful keepsake
Keep a full-resolution export before sending a messaging-app copy. If you plan to print later, test one completed layout on your actual printer. Decide who can see saved sessions and whether people can ask for theirs to be removed. A phone booth may be informal, but its pictures still belong to real people. Ask before displaying them beyond the gathering.
