Film & darkroom
Ask a lab for help with a film-processing problem
Send evidence that connects exposure, processing and output.
A dark scan alone may not explain why a roll looks wrong.
Collect the useful record
Prepare the film product, exposure index, developer, dilution, temperature, timing and agitation notes. Describe the actual negative’s appearance and include a safe reference image showing relevant edges. Keep private portrait files out of the request unless they are necessary and you agree to share them.
Ask a precise question
Explain whether the issue is on the negative, scan or print and what comparison you have made. Do not change the whole workflow before receiving useful feedback. Save the response with the roll record and label suggestions as proposed changes until a new test has actually been evaluated.
